Happiness

A mother without child.

A child without mother.

A cycle of the unloved,

the heartbroken,

the alone.

Longing orphans in hovels.

Longing parents in homes.

Longing for the unattainable,

the unreachable,

the love of another.

The sadness of an orphan.

The sadness of a mother.

The sadness they share,

the forgotten,

the alone.

But happiness comes.

But happiness comes.

One day, parents will come.

One day, children will come.

One day all will be loved

and happy

and together.

No longer a child without mother.

No longer a mother without child.

No longer alone.

But happy.
This was inspired by yuumei's Knite [link] and my own experiences as a young child.

I didn't want to write this and make it completely depressing, but there is a lot of sadness when it comes to having kids.

10 to 20 percent of all couples cannot have children.
In the United States alone, roughly 4 percent of all children do not have parents.
Factor in Russia. China. India. Haiti. Vietnam. Africa.

The good news is that people care. And that 'happiness' isn't as unattainable as it seems.
